Cambridge is situated on the north side of the Charles River. Home to some of the most prestigious schools including Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge is well known around the world.
Cambridge is commonly dubbed “The city of squares” due to the number of squares that the city has including Harvard, Inman, Central and Kendall Squares. Each distinct in their own personality, all areas offer various services for their residents from shopping to dining.
In the 1980’s, companies particularly in the tech industry began playing a large role in the popularity of Cambridge. At first, Lotus opened up shop there and were followed years after by biotech firms including Genzyme, Biogen and Novartis. Today, the Kendall Square area is home to many additional tech companies including Google, Microsoft and Amazon.
